About Us

MC2 was founded in 2005 by a group of homeschooling moms who wanted to pool their talents and resources together to enhance their children’s home education. It is a Christian faith-based co-op that welcomes homeschooling families from all walks of life.

Classes offered are a mix of core and enrichment classes for students of all ages, 2 years old to 12th grade. We also have an attended nursery for ages 2 and under. Visit our Class Descriptions page to discover what classes we are currently offering. New classes are always being added each semester, and we welcome any ideas you may have for new offerings. Your personal talents and strengths could be just the learning opportunity other families are looking for!

MC2 meets once a week on Fridays at the building of Northwest church of Christ in Lake Worth, TX. We have 2 twelve week semesters each year, from 8:45am to 2pm. There is a Morning Assembly, four 55-minute classes, and a 1 hour lunch period. The Fall Semester begins in late August/early September, and wraps up before Thanksgiving. Spring semester starts in late January and ends at the end of April.

We know homeschool families are usually one income families, so we strive to keep the cost as low as possible. One way we do this is by trading our skills for the skills of others. We require each participating parent to teach at least one class, attend the nursery, or oversee group duties. We waive that requirement for the first semester of membership. What you teach is up to you! While we are a co-op comprised of Christian families, we disallow religion specific classes because we represent different backgrounds, and feel that those classes are best offered outside of Co-Op.

MC2 is not a drop off school. A parent from every family is required to be on site and participating for the entire day. We do not offer “partial day” participation.  All members must participate during all 4 periods.

Family registration is $85 per semester. Each class also has a class fee associated with it to cover the cost of texts and/or materials. These class fees are extremely reasonable compared to other co-ops, so we are a great alternative for the budget conscious family! We offer a payment plan to make things even easier. All Class Fees are listed on our Class Descriptions page.

We do not have a Statement of Faith that must be signed, but rather Faith Affirming Scriptures in which all members must fully believe:

  • “…God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11)

  • “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

  • “All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
