Class Description:

This class will cover the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Students will study all 11 of the human body organ systems as well as complete each lab in the textbook. Labs will be completed during co-op, with the exception of the fetal pig dissection which will be an optional lab completed after the students finish their textbook. Students will be provided a syllabus with reading assignments, On Your Own questions, and tests. You may order lab kits from anywhere, but Nature’s Workshop Plus provides lab kits with all the necessary supplies. Here is their website:

  • The Human Body: Advanced Biology in Creation, by Marylin Shannon and Rachel Yunis (1st or 2nd edition). 
  • Solutions and Test manual
  • Anatomy Coloring Book, by Wynn Kapit and Lawrence M. Elson
  • Composition notebook
  • Human Body Slide Set
  • Microscope
  • Blood Typing Kit
  • Dissection Kit (dissection tray and tools)
  • Dissection Specimens: Cow’s heart, cow’s eye, and fetal pig
