Around the World

Teacher: Kristie Whitby and Karen Graves

Age of Students: 6-8

Class Fee: $15

Length: 1 Semester

Prerequisites: None

Class Description:

In this class we will have fun learning about continents, countries, and cultures from around the world! The world is such a great big, beautiful diverse place. Each week I plan on teaching through ABC Mouse songs, games, crafts, my personal stories of experience, pictures, lecture and interactive activities and the lay of the land and seas. Understanding countries versus continents and our own place in the world is of great importance. Places I’ve been and will draw from are Haiti, Honduras, Ensenada (Mexico), Tanzania (Africa), Amsterdam (Holland), Pennsylvania (USA) and Brisbane(Australia).  We will spend time on each continent and author our own “passport” about the things we have learned. See you around the world!

Homework Requirements:

All work will be done in class except for practicing songs at home.

Required Materials:

Pencils and notebook paper.

Notes:

I am looking forward to teaching your students this semester using the Love and Logic modality. Love and Logic is loving children in spite of their behavior and empowering them to make good choices with natural consequences.
