We will learn what our country’s government is all about and why. We will study the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Constitution, as well as how the local state and federal governments are set up and how they work.
“Our Constitution Rocks” by Juliette Turner
David Barton’s new high school government workbook (to be released in December)
There will be substantial homework, including reading, writing, individual and group projects. Workbook completion and memorization are mandatory.
Students will meet after co-op 2 or 3 times during the semester for one hour. There will also be a possible field trip.
This should be a fantastic, while intense class. Please do not sign up if you and your student are not willing to complete the work and participate in all the activities. This course will be able to be counted on the high school transcript.
