A sewing class for students who have experience sewing. We will work on making one or two larger projects from a pattern

In this course, your student will do a deep-dive into the unique design of their own body–both inside and out–and how they can keep it working well!

Learn about a new animal every week with crafts and games

Students will be drawing with pencil and pen, then painting with oil and acrylic. They will be practicing to draw in the first two weeks in this class. The goal will be to learn how to create perspective, shading, and proper dimensions. Then, we will start to paint with oils. We start with oil before acrylic so that students will have enough time to work on their paintings rather leave them behind after the semester is over to dry. Oil painting takes more preparation, clean-up and drying time than acrylic. The last part of the semester will be using acrylics. I limit the amount of students to 6 per semester mostly due to prep and clean-up needs, but also so that I am able to see how each student is understanding and working with their art pieces. Because each student is different, how I present the material may differ each semester, but what is covered during the course does not change. Students are welcome to take the course as many times as they like and pick up something different each time. The goal is to give them a space to practice painting, not to create masterpieces. Many, if not most, of the pieces will be incomplete or not as polished off as they could be. If the student misses a week, part of that painting will not be complete. I would encourage parents to make paints available to those students who wanted to put more time into their work than what time allows at co-op. I can provide a list of materials needed to buy for home painting.

We will work on skills such as shapes, numbers, patterns, counting, adding and subtracting as students need them.

Students will learn technical skills of tennis including forehand, backhand, volleys, serves, and proper footwork.

This class is typically a 9th or 10th grade high school class with heavy amounts of vocabulary.

This class gives a classroom (non-lab) introduction to the basics of chemistry, including measurement & units, atoms & molecules, atomic structure, molecular structure, polyatomic ions and molecular geometry, stoichiometry, acid-base chemistry, and more.

Students will read the text, completing and checking the On Your Own questions. Parents will sign a sheet each week showing which OYOs have been completed. Each class begins with a brief (5-10 minute) quiz reviewing basic concepts. Every 4 weeks (2 chapters), students will complete an at-home project and an in-class test. The project consists of creating sample questions on given topics.

Note: A typical high school class would go further in depth and contain many labs. Parents will have to decide what labs and additional problems to assign their child in their judgment of what fulfills their educational needs.

Intro to chess. We will learn basic rules, strategy and etiquette of the game of chess.

Each week we will work on a new craft project

Discover the world of Insects through videos, hands on activities, and fun adventures.

Each week we will watch a Disney movie and do a related craft

Let's play and learn the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and other essential concepts in Spanish.

We will read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Each week the students will be responsible for reading the assigned chapters and complete the related homework sheets.

This elective science will conduct weekly labs on various aspects of forensic science. Students are expected to follow the instructions and complete the lab reports provided in the Teacher Guide.

This course will cover scientific inquiry and history, geology, the human body and more, while engaging in experiments that use common chemicals and supplies.

We will be using the Workbook- Handwriting Without Tears Letters and Numbers for Me.

This course explores the relationship between faith and government, covering foundational topics such as the Constitution, Federalism, Civic Engagement, Judicial System, etc.

Follow the course of U.S. history from Explorers to Modern Times while learning to write with structure and style.

Following Narnia is designed to accompany Institute for Excellence in Writing's Structure & Style curriculum

Students will be introduced and learn how to communicate, defend, and advocate for different "sides" or viewpoints in a structed argument.

In this class period, we will not only be cooking, the course will revolve around the science of cooking and how kitchen gadgets work.

Put your imagination and engineering skills to work as we build different creations each week!

We will be reading through 3 of the Magic Treehouse books. There will be assigned reading 2-3 chapters each week.

This class is typically taken by 10th - 12th grade students. In this Marine Biology class we will focus exclusively on marine biology and marine habitats, from microscopic creatures to the big fish that eat the little fish.

We will learn the basics of music with songs, activities and games

Young children will be supervised in a room where they can play or nap.

We will be learning some sewing basics like sewing on a button, hemming a pair of pants, and how to read and follow a pattern. We will also work on making several fun projects in class throughout the semester.

Spanish 2 builds on the fundamental language elements taught in Spanish 1 and continues to focus on the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the target language. Through this course, students broaden their knowledge of Spanish grammatical structures and vocabulary allowing them to freely communicate ideas using various tenses. Students are challenged through their lessons and assignments to improve and further develop their language skills and their comprehension of Spanish. Students are also introduced to native aspects of Spanish-speaking cultures, which allow connections to be made with their own culture.

In this class, we're combining strategy and science all in one. Exploring the world of STEM will bring experiments and challenges to the young learners that will give them a greater love for science.

Every Class we will enjoy a classic Children’s Storybook and then do a coinciding activity or craft.

This class provides older students with an hour to work on their schoolwork. Students are expected to work individually and quietly so everyone can focus. Students should come prepared with assignments to work on - reading a novel, working on lab reports, doing math homework, etc.

We will preform a play at the end of the semester. It will be held after co-op. On March 28 and if we use a make-up day it would be April 4th. During class we will play theater games to help us become better actors and be more comfortable in front of others.

Toddlers do an activity like play dough, painting, coloring, etc and play. It's a great time to be a toddler.

In this course, you will gain, develop, and master skills in one or multiple areas of the yearbook creation process. Whether you’re interested in page design or photography, copywriting or marketing, or any other skill required to create a memorable yearbook, you’ll be able to come to class every day and learn by doing. Outside of developing these individual skills, we’re also working towards a single, shared goal: to create the most memorable yearbook MC2 has ever seen.
